Evening in the Barn

 I was Milking Matilda and I turned my head and  something about the way my new couple bales of hay looked caught my eye...I hollered to Mary who was playing with her chick and asked her if she'd get me the camera. I took the picture using a lot of different settings. I think they came out nicely but they are dark (it was late in the evening as I was milking).

 I did some with flashes because of how dark the others were but I really don't like the look the flash gives to pictures

 The babies were watching me through their stall door (you can see one of them in the middle dark one) and wanted attention so I messed around with my camera some more and took some pictures of them through the wire.

Flume Gorge

We went to the Flume!
We took a day trip with my Grandmother (Dee), and Uncle Luke. It was a lot of fun. We left the house around Six-thirty and came home around eight. We took the Kancamagus highway there, Which we found out everyone pronounces wrong! We stopped at the Basin and the Old Man of the Mountains Memorial before heading home.  I thought they did a good job with the memorial. It made you feel depressed when you left. On our way home we stopped at a shop that was in a bridge!!! It was so cool, I was like "I want a Bridge shop!"

 This is one of the Turnbuckles that was helping to hold the Old Man up, it said when they put it there is was straight and the weight of him falling bent it!

An update on Lila

 Lila is VERY pregnant...she could go into labor any minute. I think she might actually have them today so I'll keep you updated. These pictures are cute but they don't show anywhere near how big she is. She's very uncomfortable, the heat is really beating on her. Lila is shifting a lot not able to settle down, I hope she has them soon I don't like seeing her so tired and uncomfortable.

Painted Nails

 Now my goats can prance about in STYLE! 

 All my goats got Pedicures yesterday! It looked best on Pippi cause she's got the lighter colored "toes". With the dark goats the polish barely shows.

Dairy Day

Larissa from Tiny Hill Farm and I went over to the Farmer's Museum in Milton for their Dairy day. We brought four goats, three generations... Tilly's momma, Varla, Tilly, and Tilly's two babies. It was neat.

 We did a milking demonstration, not very many people were as interested in it as I thought would be. We milked Tilly and Varla.

 Larissa also had some of her chicks with us. I'd tell you what breeds but the only ones I remember is turkeys and silkies....and that the chickens are four dollars each and the turkeys are eight, and she hatched them out at home.

I brought Leibchen and Leia over to see the two driving horses, Leia was a little scared of them, especially the one that kept nudging her in the face! But Leibchen had a funny bonding with them! They kept smelling and nosing each other, it was funny. 

It was a fun day! And a great way, I think, for people to become aware of Larissa's farm and the things she's selling.  The weather stayed nice for us too. About an hour after we got home it started thundering and down pouring! A Huge Storm....And hail! I'm just glad the weather waited for us. It was a nice day, I think we both had fun....Or should I say all six of us had fun! Though the babies were really tired afterwards, It was a big day for them!
